Why does Botox® In Brighton only work on dynamic wrinkles?

How does Botox® in Brighton work?

Botulinum toxin type A is an extremely mild derivative of botulinum toxin making it completely safe for the body. Botox® works by preventing signals from the nerve cells to reach the muscles. This, essentially paralyzes the muscles targeted. In our Brighton clinic Botox® is injected into the predetermined muscles, blocking signals and relaxing an area for three to four months. Wrinkles that result from repetitive muscle movement, known as dynamic wrinkles, will dramatically subside while the muscle is relaxed. Crow’s Feet, forehead creases, and frown lines are all dynamic wrinkles that can see significant reduction with Botox® injections. This same process is also what diminishes hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating); as the targeted muscles no longer receive the body’s signals, they stop contracting, thus reducing unwanted symptoms.

Since Botox® works by directly relaxing muscle movement, it has no effect on wrinkles caused by a loss in tissue elasticity, lax skin, or diminishing facial volume. If you are struggling with wrinkles and a loss in youthful volume, never fear. Soft tissue fillers are designed to plump facial tissues and can restore lost volume in the cheeks, under the eyes, and across the jawline. Combined with Botox® anti-wrinkle injections, fillers can provide optimal facial rejuvenation. This combination is often referred to as a liquid facelift.
